Trans Women of Color Collective
Through extensive research and outreach, I set out to spotlight the experiences and struggles facing trans women of color. This community faces disproportionate levels of discrimination, violence, and marginalization in our society. By taking time to earnestly listen to trans women's stories and perspectives, I gained a nuanced understanding of the unique challenges they navigate daily.
Web Design
Armed with this knowledge, I leveraged design strategy and persuasive communication techniques to raise awareness of this critical cause. I synthesized my research into an impactful landing page that compellingly conveys why trans rights are human rights. This page effectively highlights jarring statistics about the dangers trans women of color face, putting data behind the emotional urgency of this issue.
However, I was careful not to reduce trans women to victims - I also emphasized their courage, resilience and leadership. The page uplifts real voices and narratives within the community, going beyond statistics to spotlight the human stories of love, struggle and triumph. My goal was to create an interactive experience that builds empathy and pushes visitors to get involved with organizations supporting trans women of color.
This project taught me the power of design to drive social change. By combining visual storytelling and advocacy, I engaged audiences on an issue they may never have deeply considered before. My hope is that this page moves people to see trans women as the strong, brilliant sisters they are and take action to support them. I aim to continue leveraging my skills to elevate important causes and make a difference.
