This film follows a young man struggling to cope after the death of his grandparents. As part of the creative team, I spearheaded the design of a movie poster that would evoke the essence of this poignant story. Through collaboration with the director and producers, I honed the visual direction, ultimately creating graphics and typography that channel the solemnity and hope central to the film’s narrative. My goal was to produce a poster that spoke deeply to the emotional weight of the protagonist’s journey. Moving through multiple iterations, I arrived at a final design that the team felt authentically embodied the spirit of this impactful story of grief and healing. Working together, we crafted impactful visuals to give audiences a window into the film’s heart.

Graphic Design For Film Making

Process
I was brought onto this project to design a cross-section home poster that would visually fit the style of the film. The client provided examples of the flat, graphic aesthetic they wanted. My initial concepts adhered to these guidelines, but we agreed the tone wasn't quite right.
After viewing the movie, I found fresh creative direction. I saw an opportunity to make the poster better match the film's energy and character. Keeping the 2D illustrated look the client wanted, I developed a new concept that felt intrinsically tied to the spirit of the film.
The final poster evokes the movie's vibe through considered color, composition, and conceptual elements layered together in the dimensional cross-section illustration. This collaborative process resulted in a design that works on multiple levels - achieving the client's vision while capturing the heart of the film. Aligning visual identity with subject matter was the goal.
